New Forest & Hampshire County Show with Wendy & Pat

New Forest & Hampshire County Show

What a fantastic time we had at the County Show! We watched spectacular performances from the Household Cavalry, the Heavy horses pulling their beautiful carriages, the impressive show jumping and the hunt with their hounds. The highlight of the show was the sheep shearing which had us all giggling!

At the livestock tent we saw sheep, cows and many farms animals. We had so much fun and even got the chance to hold baby chicks and bottle feed calves. What a fantastic experience!

At the flower marquee our sense of smell and sight were overwhelmed - it had to be the most colourful tent ever! The tent was packed with many different varieties of flowers and home grown vegetables.

We took a trip to Swanage where no visit is complete without exploring Corfe Castle. We boarded on an old the steam train that took us through beautiful countryside. Arriving at our destination we wandered through the quaint streets before going to explore the ruins. The castle dates back from the 11th century.

At Beaulieu we visited the famous Motor Museum and loved seeing so many different vehicles, old and new. In the beautiful historical Palace House we wandered around the fabulous rooms where we were entertained by actors in period costume. Outside the Abbey we also watched a fantastic falconry display.

On our last day we went for a stroll along the prom, had a lovely picnic and an ice cream in the sun. We then went to visit the unique village of Bucklers Hard.
