Italy - Sun, Sea & Ruins with Derek, Tini & Jim

Italy - Sun, Sea and Fun

Waking to a bright blue sky we decided to head for the beach and enjoyed swimming in the safety of our bay. We also had a relaxing walk along the promenade and stopped for our first of many more ice creams.
What a fantastic way to start our holiday!

We took the local bus into Pescara and walked along the tree lined avenues and stopped off for an artisan ice cream. They had so many flavours that we had to sample small amounts until we found the ones we wanted. After a delicious lunch at a beach cafe we walked over the fantastic bridge connecting the new town to old town where we enjoyed a beautiful view.

It was market day in Pescara, so we took the bus into town and wandered casually past the stalls, stopping along the way to barter with the stall holders. It was fun and we ended up with some nice gifts at reasonable prices. In the afternoon we spent a lot of time around the pool sunbathing and soaking up the warmth of the summer sunshine!

The beaches are set up with beds, chairs and large parasols. The sea was very inviting and much time was spent swimming and messing about. We all  had some lovely relaxing time on the stunning beaches.

We all had a great time in Italy and our evenings were spent in lovely restaurant where we always had great meals. We all enjoyed pizza cooked in traditional wood fire ovens, fresh fish and plenty of good pasta. It was truly an amazing holiday loved by all.
