Yorkshire Dales TV & Soap Country with Steve & Michaela

After a beautifully scenic drive to our luxury accommodation in the Dales, we settled in and set off to explore the stunning little village.

What a week we had, visiting lots of famous places that we see on television! One evening we went to a typical Yorkshire pub and a lady from the Emmerdale production team presented us with photographs of the cast - what fun! We had a drink in the Woolpack Inn, admiring the photo's on the walls of the brilliant cast. We visited Heartbeat Country and took in the incredible views of the moors.  We all recognised the old house where Greengrass lived (definitely everyone's favourite character!)

We drove to Goathland where we saw the fantastic Aidensfield Arms and Scripps Funeral Service and Garage. We also saw the old police cars that were used in the TV series!

We visited the buzzing Leyburn market which had many interesting stalls.  It was then off to the amazing chocolate factory where we saw the entire chocolate making process - We were all completely fascinated!  We even tasted some - mmmm......

We went to a fantastic farm where we had a special cream tea lunch and got to feed the pigs, sheep, cows and horses.  We had trailer rides around the farm and helped round the sheep into the field!  We all agreed that Flossy the Pig was our favourite animal - and what a funny character she was too.

We spent a morning at the Royal Armouries where we had a cracking tour of the museum! The array of arms, armour and artillery astounded us! there was a beautiful canal there where we enjoyed our picnic lunch. We went to Ripley castle which is over 700 years old!  We explored the castle and grounds and ate ice creams as we wandered round.
It was an action packed week, heaped full of fun and adventure!
