Norfolk Broads & Seaside with Phil & Isobel

What a holiday we had on the calm and pretty Norfolk Broads!  We made ourselves very at home in our beautiful bungalow, set right on Barton Broad.

We spent some wonderful time out on the water, gliding gently along the river ways in our excellent motor cruiser.   We each got a chance to steer the boat,
showing off our rather brilliant navigation skills!

We had lots of fun on the canoes - we learnt how to push ourselves along and how to turn and reverse. We became quite the experts!  We spotted some great local wildlife, including marsh harriers, ducks, moorhens, herons and even a swallowtail butterfly. We also marsh orchids, marsh marigolds and yellow flag iris's.

We spent a marvellously fun evening at the Great Yarmouth dog races.  We couldn't believe how fast they ran! Many of us cleverly managed to pick out the winners, clapping and cheering as they went!

We were transported back in time as we travelled from Bude to Aylesham on the Bude Valley Railway.  We had an amazing journey on the impressive old steam train, taking in magnificent countryside views.  At Aylesham we visited some charming little shops where some of us bought souvenirs to take home!
What a terrifically fun holiday we had at Norfolk!
