New Forest & Hampshire County Show with Jim, Owen & Wendy

Our incredible six days away in New Forest began with a lovely get together in a pub garden surrounded by trees and horses! Everyone got to know each other and then we set off for the holiday park where we were staying called Hoburne Naish. We all unpacked and explored the resort and then headed off to a beautiful oak-beamed restaurant for dinner.
We were all extremely excited about heading off to the New Forest Show, and we off with bubbling anticipation.  It was a spectacular event with a huge variety of things to see and do during our two days there. The sights and smells were so enticing!
We started off by watching some of the finest horses 'strutting their stuff' and receiving prizes for being the best of their breed!  We also saw ponies, goats, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and everyone got to hold the baby chicks!  We enjoyed some delicious ice creams as we watched the Earl and Duchess of Wessex introduce a parade of different breeds of sheep and cattle.  We had a look around some stalls for souvenirs and found someone who was making lovely woodcarvings of different animals.  We had such a fantastic time at the show and we even bought back some souvenirs!
During our week away we also visited the wonderful motor museum at Beulieu and ambled leisurely around the impressive museum, looking at the fabulous collection of cars.    Some of us went on the monorail, which travels all around the grounds from quite a height!
We had a fabulous game of ten pin bowling and played some impressive shots at crazy golf!  We took in lots of stunning scenery, enjoying a picturesque drive and short ferry ride to the beautiful Corfe.  There was an enormous hilltop castle and lots of very old cottages.
The entertainment was brilliant on our resort in the evenings.  We saw the singer Shane Richie Junior and danced our socks off each night!
As always, our week had flown by and it was the end of our holiday, however we managed to squeeze in another game of crazy golf and pool before making our way home.  We stopped off at a lovely quaint pub for lunch on the way and had a beautiful carvery. It was the perfect way to round off a fantastic holiday.
