Royal Norfolk County Show with John, Phil & Mags

After an excitable journey, we arrived at our beautiful apartments and unpacked, excited about exploring the site!  Our week was packed full of wonderful outings and the weather was constantly bright and sunny.
We headed into Sheringham one morning for an old fashioned steam train ride.  It really felt as if we had travelled back in time!  The scenery was stunning and we all sat back and watched the world go by! We then enjoyed a truly delicious lunch in Sheringham, followed by a spot of shopping in Cromer.   We then spent a sun filled afternoon on the beach, paddling our feet in the sea.  We even watched the sun setting over Blackeney harbour.

After a hearty breakfast prepared by John and Phil, we set off with great anticipation to the Norfolk Show.  It was gloriously sunny and there was so much to see and do!  We arrived bright and early and set off to watch a dog show – they did lots of tricks and made us laugh.  Throughout the day we saw sheep, cows, bulls, birds, horses, parachutists, tractors and much more!  We devoured strawberries and cream to refresh ourselves and tucked into some scrumptious ice-creams, too.  There were so many stalls to look round, each selling unique gifts.  We also looked around the food tents and tried some local produce.

One morning we headed out to the historical Wroxham Barns for tea and sandwiches on the coast.  We spent a lovely morning there and then we went on to Horning for a fantastic boat trip on the broads.  This was great fun and we actually got to drive the boat with some guidance from the captain!  We attracted a stampede of hungry ducks when we fed them!
We had some cracking meals during our week. We ate at a wonderful pub one evening called The George in East Dereham which served some very unusual deserts indeed!  Wherever we ate, there was a lot of choice and always delicious.

We had the luxury of our own hot tub at the apartments, which many of us used in the evenings.  We sat round with drinks and played games on a few of the evenings.  It was lovely to make new friends and talk about the things we had done during our days out.    It was a brilliant week all round, and everyone wanted to come back for another holiday with JollyDays!
