London Theatre & Sightseeing with Adrian & Mags

Having all met up we had a nice lunch before arriving at our nice hotel in Docklands. Once settled in, we then went out to the O2 via the cable car and had dinner.
After breakfast we took the DLR to the Tower of London. We walked over Tower Bridge and then got on a boat for a trip down River Thames to Westminster. Along the way we saw magnificent buildings including the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. We lunched in a French Patisserie and then went for a walk to Downing Street. The Prime Minister didn’t invite us in! It was then on to Horse Guards Parade, through St James’ Park and then to Buckingham Palace. We continued to walk up the Mall to Trafalger Square and saw Nelson’s Column. From there we walked to Picadilly Circus and China Town before stopping for our evening meal. After dinner we went to the theatre to see “Matilda”. It was absolutely fantastic and there was a standing ovation.
The next day we set off around the ExCel Centre and back onto the DLR. We hopped onto a bus that took us to Covent Gardens. We saw there a juggler, a uni-cyclist, musicians, singers and a very funny “slack rope walker”. Back on to a bus and then DLR to Canada Wharf for some shopping and then it was back to our hotel for dinner. We were exhausted!
On our last day, we packed up and drove to Greenwich, where we saw the Cutty Sark and we visited the Maritime Museum. We had lunch and made our journey home.
It was a fabulous few days, in the best city in the world! Thanks for having spent the time with us.
