Wales with Derek & Jen

We all had a fantastic time as the weather was pretty good and there were marvellous views over the beautiful countryside wherever you looked! Our lovely lodges were in a woodland setting which was very tranquil.

There was a nice friendly clubhouse where we had a couple of meals, played pool, participated in a quiz (which we won), watched films and even got on stage and sang! We found some lovely country pubs for superb meals and had picnics wherever possible.

We had a day out at Pembroke castle where we climbed the walls for splendid views, had a picnic, watched a falconry display and were lucky enough to see a helicopter rescue in the grounds of the castle. Another day was spent on a steam railway trip between Aberystwyth and Devils Bridge where we viewed a waterfall.

There was a day out in a wild life park where we had hands on experience of feeding wallabies and being up close to many other animals. We visited some lovely coastal resorts for nice walks and did some shopping for gifts. Obviously, ice creams came into the equation too. On a wet day (it is Wales) we went bowling and also went to the movies.
