Norfolk Broads with Colin & Jen

After all meeting up we set off to the Norfolk Broads stopping on the way to have lunch at a very nice country pub in the village of Ranworth.
Arriving at our accomodation we were met by Ted and Colin, two of the instructors that were going to make our week an exciting experience of trying out different boats on the Broads. After discussing our schedule for the week it was time for unpacking and getting ready to head out again for dinner. We drove into Ludham and stopped at the Kings Arms, another country pub with a very nice restaurant.
During the week we went out onto the Broads all but one day, everyone learning how to sail, having a good laugh at the rowing as we ended up in the reeds a couple of times and relaxing on the cruisers.
On the Friday we spent the day cruising around the Broads in the "Nancy Bee 11" stopping at lunchtime to have a meal at the "Ferry Inn", situated right on the riverside.
In the middle of the week we did have one day where we had decided not to go out on any of the boats as the weather had been predicted to be not so good so we set out to Holt to catch the steam train into Sherringham. The prediction was correct and it rained most of the day but we didnt let it spoil our fun as we drove out that evening to enjoy a game of 10 pin bowling. Our star performer at the bowling was Peggy who not only won but was the only one of us to get a strike !
During the week we not only enjoyed a number of meals out but we also fitted in a BBQ and one night we spent at Yarmouth Stadium watching the greyhound racing.....everyone managed at least one winner !!!
We finished our week away by driving into Great Yarmouth for the customary present and souvenier shopping and as always we stopped at another country pub for lunch before setting off on our way home.
